Learn about Paddlehost Training

Attention ENC members: Sign up for paddlehost training on March 5

Explore North Coast’s paddle hosttraining is on Saturday, March 5 from 9 am to noon at Big Lagoon County Park in Trinidad, CA.This is one of two progressive trainings led by Larry and Mike with the other event being held on Saturday, March 26.

Topics covered on March 5 will include risk assessment, weather, forecasts, leading a paddle, strokes, maneuvers, and boat control, rescues and recovery, and a brief discussion on towing. These topics will be further explored during the second training. RSVP by March 3.


Volunteer paddlehosts make ENC events happen. This is a great opportunity to learn about becoming a paddle host and improve your kayaking skills. These training sessions are open to all ENC members, whether or not you have an interest in being a paddle host at this time. We do require that everyone has been vaccinated for COVID19.
