Journey of the Ages - Discovering Our Shared Faith Stories
Other than your mother telling you that you had to, why do you go to church? For a COOKOUT for one thing!
This Sunday, July 14, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., there will be a cookout at church. It will be an opportunity for Millennials, Baby Boomers, and those in between... (everyone) to meet, eat, and listen to each other's church experiences. What was church like in the "old days"? What gets in the way of church attendance for you? How do you find your place in the social, service, or other aspects of the church? What makes a church welcoming?
The church will supply the grill, meat, (and other things to grill), buns, and homemade ice cream. The rest will be potluck. There will be a sign-up sheet if you want to express your interest in attending. We may invite others to make sure we have a good balance of different age groups.
Come celebrate summer fellowship in a unique way!.
New Hope Bicyclists
Next ride will be this Sunday, July 14. Meet at church at 11:30 am or at Marley Station Mall B&A Trail Access by JC Penney. All levels of riders are welcome. If you have any questions or are interested in going, contact Pat Piet at firstname.lastname@example.org
Dear Awesome Artists of New Hope Lutheran Church,
Do you love to sing, act, play an instrument (looking for string players)?
Opus Concert Theatre has 2019 - 21 Season Auditions. We performed for you Amahl & the Night Visitors and upcoming is Verdi's Nabucco. (6 performances in October, two at New Hope!)
Verdi's Nabucco - Opus Concert Theatre proudly presents Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece, Nabucco. Direct from the Bible - 587 BC books of Jeremiah & Daniel, Nabucco is the story of a leader - King of Babylon - Nebuchadnezzar who... declares himself to be above the laws of God & Man. Nabucco reveals a love that crosses religious/racial boundaries, faces political lies, manipulations for power, enslavement of the Jews (minorities) and God's final judgement and justice. Semi-Staged Concert Version, with soloists, chorus, sung in English and Italian.
Auditions are 13 July - Saturday at New Hope!

Seeking Musicians for Joyful Noise
Joyful Noise leads worship at the 8:30 service year-round. Currently, we are in need of a drummer to help us keep the beat and to add an important instrument to the band. We could also use additionalsingers – sopranos, altos, tenors, bass. If you can sing, we would love to have you join us. Send an email to David Fanning.
Pastor Ginny's 30th Anniversary of Ordination
Come Celebrate with New Hope Lutheran and Pastor Ginny Price for her 30th anniversary of ordination! Assistant to the Bishop Pastor Amsalu Geleta will be our preacher for both services on Sunday, July 21st.
We’re Trying Something New!
In an effort to improve communication, we’re trying a weekly e-letter instead of a monthly newsletter during the summer months. It will be distributed every Thursday.
If you’d like to submit something for the e-letter, please send the information to our Parish Administrator, Noah O’Ryan (email@example.com), by Tuesday at 11:59 PM. Can’t find a previous week’s e-letter in your ever-growing inbox? Go to this link to find it!
Not a fan of email? We’ll have hard copies available also.
Thank You from the Delmars!

Patuxent Valley Lunch Debt
Thank you to everyone who donated during our Noisy Change collections in June. We collected $700 to go towards the $9000 lunch debt owed by students at Patuxent Valley Middle School. Through the month of July..., you can continue to help pay down the debt by “Adopting a Debt” owed by an individual student. Envelopes are hanging on the bulletin board in the coat closet area. Each envelope has the amount a student owes ranging from $4 to $200. Most envelopes are under $100. These 80 envelopes are about half of the students who owe debts. Choose an envelope, place the money or check inside and place the envelope in the offering plate. Checks should be made payable to New Hope Lutheran with PVMS lunch debt in the memo line.
Patuxent Valley Middle School After School Snacks
In October we will begin delivering and serving snacks for students in the school’s afterschool clubs on Thursday afternoons. As the sales start gearing up for back to school, consider donating some of these items. All items may be left in the coat closet area. If you are interested in helping with this part of our partnership or learning more about why PVMS, contact Kathy Piet.
