We had a lot of fun together at Panhel Bunco in October. We also collected donations for our Winter Warmth Drive. Thanks to all the ladies for a fun time and for your donations to those in our community!
ISU Greek Alumni Reunion
We had fun at the ISU Greek Alumni Reunion in Ames on Oct. 30. We enjoyed a free Hickory Park dinner at the ISU Alumni Center and great social time with fellow alums before the ISU Homecoming pep rally! The event was sponsored by the ISU Greek Alumni Alliance.

Donations for the Career Closet:
Women Helping Women
At our December board meeting, we will be collecting items for the Career Closet in Des Moines. The Career Closet helps women who need clothes for job interviews and for new jobs. Most of the women come from battered women's shelters, prison or homeless shelters.
The Career Closet is coordinated by the Women of Plymouth Church and located at the Wellmark Y. See their Facebook page for more information.
Please take a moment to look through your closet and gather items to donate. Delegates are encouraged to bring donations to our December 13 meeting. Special thanks to Kim Trautman, who volunteers for the Career Closet, for getting us involved with this great cause!
Types of donations needed - nice pants, sweaters, jackets, coats, jeans, blouses, shoes, boots, gloves, hats, mittens, jewelry, purses, etc.
Please make sure items are good quality - something that you would give to a friend for an interview or work. (Note - the Career Closet isn't taking summer clothes, sweatshirts, or clothes with stains/holes/etc.)
Many of the women that the Career Closet helps walk quite a distance to get to work or to a bus stop. Let's help them stay warm this winter by donating coats, boots, hats, scarves and gloves, in addition to other career clothing.

Gallup Research Confirms "Well-Being" of Fraternity and Sorority Alumni
We all know and have experienced the benefits of being in the Greek Community, and now there is a research study to confirm what we know. The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) and the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) partnered with Gallup to conduct “well-being” research as part of the Gallup- Purdue Index. More than 30,000 college graduates participated in the study, designed to measure the relationship between the college experience and the five essential elements of well-being.
The results confirmed that fraternity and sorority members are more likely than all other college graduates to be thriving in each of the five elements of well-being: purpose, physical, social, financial and community.
Here are some highlights of the research:
*43% of fraternity and sorority members who are employed full time for an employer are engaged in the workplace compared to 38% of all other college graduates who are employed full time.
*More fraternity and sorority members (37%) strongly agree that their institutions prepared them for life after college than all other college graduates (27%).
*Twenty-two percent of college graduates who are members of a fraternity or sorority are emotionally attached to their alma maters. Graduates who were not members of a fraternity or sorority are slightly less likely to be attached (17%).
