Fall planting time is here!

Order by midnight September 25, 2016, and your order will be ready and waiting for pick-up on Saturday, October 1st.

On October 1st you can also wander around the beautiful site at the Living Centre, our partner organization, and a wonderful place to take Forest Garden training (among many other things).

You can only order from our expansive catalog (over 200 items!) before midnight on September 25, though there will be a few plants available that day that are in pots.

Order online now.

Pawpaws!

Ontario's rare native 'exotic' - the fruit is the largest of any fruit tree native to Ontario, and in many people's opinions (my own included) has the greatest taste. Shaped like a mango, consistency like an avocado, and taste like vanilla ice cream. This year we are have three varieties available: Davis (pictured), Pennsylvania Golden, and Allegheny. All are grafted selections with excellent reputations for large and tasty fruit.

Maypop
(Hardy Passionflower)

Just one look at the flower might be enough, but when you consider that the flower is followed by delicious passionfruit, that's pretty amazing for Ontario! We are at the very northern fringe of the natural range of this species, so select a nice micro-climate for it, and/or protect it in winter.
