Prometheas tribute to Vassilis Tsitsanis

On January 16, 2016, Prometheas paid tribute to 100 years since the birth of Vassilis Tsitsanis with a performance dedicated to the life and music of the great composer.

The response from the community was so enthusiastic that the organizers decided to move the performance to the St. George Grand Hall to accommodate the large number of people, which rose to 250.

Dr. Economopoulos opened the program with a short bio of Tsitsanis and his contribution to the Greek musical scene, followed by a short slide show by Dr. Makrodimitris.

The musical part was the highlight of the night as the audience clearly enjoyed listening to the melodic voices of Mrs. Maria Paschalidis and Ms. Mary Voutsas as well as Mr. Spyros Traiforos who also proposed this event. Achilleas Papaefthemiou and his orchestra led the musical part with skill and gusto.

People sang along, danced and genuinely enjoyed the evening, which ended with a reception that offered a variety of Greek mezedes and drinks.
