Dear <<First Name>>
How many people do you think visited our Visitor Information Centre each day over the June Long Weekend?
Hello from Peta Godenzi, President Email me: email@example.com or tel 0428 971 203.
50? 100? 200?
Try 450 per day over each of the three days - that's more than 1350 people, more then one a minute during hours of operation!
How vital this service is to our towns, and what an essential and effective way to ensure your business has the profile it deserves. Every day of the week our Visitor Information Centre offers a service to tourists and locals alike. People appreciate the opportunity to speak to a local (and our volunteers are fabulous ambassadors for the region - pic below) and get a personal recommendation on what to do or where to stay. And they also appreciate a warm fire in winter, a rest stop, a chance to wander the gallery and purchase a local handcraft. CEDA members make this possible.
Look for our school holidays updates via our Visit Warburton Facebook page or the www.visitwarburton.com.au website. We will continue to provide regular updates on snow activity and reports from Parks Victoria throughout the winter season. Help spread the word by linking to www.visitwarburton.com.au from your website and/or Facebook page.
Thank you to everyone who has renewed their membership so far. We appreciate end-of-financial year can be a busy time - especially when it coincides with school holidays so have extended the renewal date to July 14 for your ease.
A reminder follow up email will be sent in a weeks time but if you want to activate your renewal in the meantime you can always go to our PayPal link on the website here. Remember inclusion on www.visitwarburton.com.au and in the Waterwheel are key member benefits!
Download our new CEDA brochure here if you need to reacquaint yourself with our purpose or if you want to encourage others to join.

Outdoor Tourism and Cycling
A working group has been formed from key stakeholders to further develop the marketing plan from the Outdoor Tourism workshop and to implement key outcomes. CEDA Committee member Phil Wallens will head up this subcommittee.
It was interesting to read this ABC news article recently ('Mountain Bike tourism helps drive Economic Turnaround', 18 May 2015) about the increased economic prosperity experienced by Derby, a small town in Tasmania (population 200) when a world-class mountain bike facility was established last year. Image the possibilities for Warburton Valley! The Cycling/Outdoor Tourism workshop and the securing of funding for the November Gran Fondo event (in partnership with Yarra Ranges Tourism) have been key CEDA achievements this year!
We've just added to our website a full range of suggested itineraries for cycling actives in the Warburton Valley showcasing some of the best the region has to offer. From gentle days out to more vigorous overnight rides, we've got it covered! See our website to check them out so you know what you can recommend to your visitors. Our popular Itineraries page also has loads of other suggested days out (beyond cycling) that will be of interest.
- Monthly meeting - third Tuesday of the month. The next Warburton Valley CEDA meeting is Tuesday 21 July 2015 at 3pm in the boardroom at the Warburton Community bank branch on the main street. Members may attend and should RSVP to this email address. Alternatively you can submit any questions or comments in writing for the committee.
