NEWSLETTER 6 May 2015 | CEDA members and associates edition

Monthly newsletter - May

Dear <<First Name>>
Hello from Peta Godenzi, President
Email me: info@delorainehomestead.com.au or tel 0428 971 203.

Last week we advised our members of a new marketing initiative for CEDA that we are confident will further enhance the tourism potential of the Warburton Valley - now it's time to tell all of our associates!

In conjunction with Yarra Ranges Tourism, we have a new website that focuses exclusively on our destination, yet  leverages from the master marketing plans of visitvictoria.com.au and visityarravalley.com.au

INTRODUCING www.VISTWARBURTON.COM.AU

I am sure you will agree the look, feel and functionality of our new dedicated website, www.visitwarburton.com.au  is a bold and solid step forward that will enhance our image, attractiveness and visibility not only locally but worldwide.

A great deal of research and development, testing and investment has gone into this new platform and we are all very excited to have a web presence that offers such enhanced exposure to the tourism and activities unique to our region.  Advanced features such as booking buttons and itinerary planners will provide terrific encouragement for potential visitors.

Over the past weeks we have uploaded a significant amount of Warburton Valley-specific content, including individual profile pages for current CEDA members, and where appropriate this content will also be featured on the visityarravalley.com.au site as well. The importance of listing events on www.eventsvictoria.com is highlighted on our new site with a whole section populating important Whats' on listing for the region.

For the 2015/16 financial year your presence on this site is a primary benefit of membership renewal. (Membership renewal packs will be sent shortly so its a great time to consider jointing and being part of the www.visitwarburton.com.au family) And, of course it is vital that a website is a living and breathing, constantly evolving marketing statement so our commitment to developing this site is ongoing and one all members will be able to contribute to.

Moving to this new collaboration with Yarra Ranges Tourism coincides with the end of our long-term partnership with warburtoninfo and Paul Jackson. We wish Paul ongoing success with his websites and extend sincere gratitude for his significant contribution to The Warburton & District Chamber of Commerce and Industry and for pioneering Warburton’s online presence.

As CEDA passes its first birthday, we are thrilled to have such a significant offering for our members and hope you join us in our optimism for the future.

Home-based business survey

Are you a home-based business in Yarra Ranges? Help us help you! We’d appreciate 15 minutes of your time to complete our survey designed to guide us as we shape actvities to best assist this important part of our local economy.
Two types of businesses are being assessed in this survey - those working from home and those working at home.
A “from home” home-based business is defined as a construction business or other type of contractor that has a business registered from a home address. Such a business may have a dedicated small office or workshop in their residence but frequently work on clients premises.
An “at home” home-based business is defined as a profession or job that is actually carried out of home. This could be, for example, a beauty therapist, graphic designer, artist, etc where the majority of work of the home based business is carried out at home. Complete the survey.

All Facebook posts from our Waterhwheel page will now be tweeted (have your liked our FB page?) and we will be part of the network of tweeters associated with Yarra Ranges Tourism and others - a very large potential exposure.
If you tweet, please follow us and where appropriate retweet our posts and we will do the same!
Also we encourage use of the following hashtags #warburton and #warburtonvalley on FB posts and photos (especially on Instagram).

Invite a writer from Weekend Notes
Weekend Notes is a popular email drop that delivers information about upcoming events and activities directly into subscribers inboxes and provides broad exposure to up to one million recipients. While there is the option to pay (starting at $49) to have your activity/business covered, there is also the option of 'inviting a writer', which means one of Weekend Notes staff writers will cover your event in exchange for an invitation to enjoy your event free of charge. You can ask for a specific writer, or  simply log your details on the form provided in this link, and the most senior writer to express interest will be awarded your job. Well worth a few minutes of your time.

What can I do? Three things this month...

  1. Check out Weekend Notes website and develop some creative ideas to attract the attention of their writers.
  2. Follow @warburtonvalley on Twitter - we'd love to follow you back.
  3. If you are a CEDA member, review your listing on www.visitwarburton.com.au and advise your changes. Check your inbox  for the 5/5/15 email titled 'www.visitwarburton.com.au - make your changes' for instructions!
