Cynthia McFarlandFollowing an extended illness, Canon Cynthia McFarland, longtime communications director, historiographer and archivist of the Diocese of New Jersey and active leader in the wider Episcopal Church, died Feb. 13 in New Jersey. She was managing editor of Anglicans Online.

McFarland recently finished a monograph on John Talbot, the first SPG missionary in New Jersey, where she carefully reviewed his family, education, and the report that he had been consecrated by a Non-juror bishop. She was about halfway through what would have been a definitive biography of Bishop Doane, Second Bishop of New Jersey. NEHA Members may remember her lively presentation "Auburn, New York: Anglo-Catholic Crossroads" during the 2012 NEHA Conference in Buffalo, NY. A full obituary can be found here.
