Board of Supervisors Vote to Increase JobPath's Funding 16%!

Today, 25 PCICEO leaders and representatives from JobPath attended the County Supervisors' meeting to show community support for JobPath, Pima County's premier workforce development organization. JobPath Board members Bruce Dusenberry and Pastor Steve Springer, Dove of Peace Lutheran Church, as well as Lindsay Leonard, a JobPath graduate, spoke to the board about the impact the program has in terms of the lives of individuals and families, as well as economic development, in Pima County. As a result, the County Board of Supervisors voted 4 - 1 to approve a tentative county budget which includes an increase in funding from $422,844 to $500,000 for the organization.

According to a recent study, JobPath created a total economic impact of $34.3 million on the Pima County economy in 2014 - 2015. JobPath graduates increased their income by nearly $10 million over pre-training levels in just five years. JobPath was created by Pima County Interfaith and the business community in 1998. It has over 1,400 graduates working in living wage jobs. Each year we advocate to make sure it has public funding.
