WeekWise: Five and Six

We are rolling full steam ahead here at OwlSpark! Weeks five and six have been a whirlwind of activities, and founders are at the point of beginning preparations for their pitch at the Bayou Startup Showcase. We’re honing in on value propositions, competitive landscapes, go-to market strategies and more, to prepare founders to showcase their hard work to more than 400 entrepreneurs, mentors, advisors, investors, and key stakeholders from the greater Houston entrepreneurial community.

PeopleWise: Kaz Karwowski

Kaz Karwowski, executive director of the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership (RCEL), returns to lend his help to OwlSpark for another exciting summer of entrepreneurship and innovation. Whether it be through lectures, mentoring, or just observing, you can find Kaz helping our founders reach for their goals of creating a successful company.

TeamWise: WellWorth

“Before OwlSpark I had a certain way of thinking about what it takes to build a company. It’s not that simple. There’s a process and that’s why I am here. I want to do the process. No matter how much discipline you have you need to follow the process.”

WellWorth is comprised of Rice University MBA candidate, Vinay Acharya, and Connie Zhang, recent Rice University alumni. They are building a web-based modeling platform for financial institutions operating within the oil and gas industries to create economic projections, create financial options, and create visualized scenarios.
