WeekWise: Nine and Ten

Week Nine is here and we can hardly believe it! We kicked off the week with leadership lunch featuring Kaz Karwowski, who discussed the art of negotiation. Founders devoured lasagna while Kaz explained the importance of being a good negotiator. The founders walked away with a better understanding that despite popular belief, negotiation is a win-win, not a win-lose situation.

PeopleWise: Kathleen Harrington Clark

What do a tech company, an online library for undergrads, the energy industry, professional sports, and higher education have in common? Kathleen Clark—the versatile, innovative marketing executive who brought her award-winning experience to a broad range of brands and industries.

TeamWise: Dose Capacity

Startups often have a “we’re going to change the world” attitude, but Dose Capacity has a “saving the world” kind of mindset. Dose Capacity is developing a safe and reliable pill bottle that assists people in taking the proper dosage at the right time, encouraging people to take their medicine as prescribed. This is aimed to help reduce drug abuse and addiction, especially with young adults with early exposure.

TeamWise: NutriAction

Poised to cause ripples in the nutrition industry is NutriAction, comprised of three international students from China who are all rising sophomores and computer science majors at Rice University. NutriAction aims to provide a customized assistant tool for sports dietitians to help grow the profession and impact the health, safety and performance of more athletes by collecting and documenting useful data such as their calorie intake, current and goal weights, and injuries.

“It took a little bit of luck, and perseverance, and crying.”

“I’m hiding most of money in a cayman islands 700 dollars or so.

“Are you wearing a shirt of you?

“What is a Coachella? Is that like Burning Leaf?”
“When you said side salad you never specified lettuce or fruit.

“I can think of anything else in my day except things that are brilliant.

“What comes before Part B?”

“Not gonna lie but this soup kicks that salsa's butt.
