Dear <<First Name>>

Each year organisations recognise their valued volunteers  during the National Volunteer Week. This year it is held between May 20 May 26.

So as we come to the end of National Volunteer Week and to mark the contribution by our volunteers, the Alma Doepel Restoration would like to recognise the incredible and persistent efforts of our many volunteers physically working on the ship's restoration and conducting a range of fund raising and public relations activities.

65,000+ hours to date

All of these activities are vital for the project to proceed and ultimately achieve our goal to equip our young citizens for success in their lives through the Alma Doepel Youth Sail Training programs.

The Alma Doepel Supporters Club greatly appreciates and thank you for your continued commitment and support.

We hope that your reward is the satisfaction gained from participating in this significant community project, and seeing the fruits of your labour realised.
Your continued membership of the Alma Doepel Supportres Club provides not only an important physical contribution of brain and brawn but also brings vital funds that go towards the restoration.

Since the restoration began we have clocked up more than 65,000 volunteer hours on the project. These Volunteer statistics are not only very impressive, but represent an important indicator of value to the community as we continue to seek Government and Corporate support for this great community project. It is reasonable to say that this project would not be possible without your ongoing support.

So from all at the Alma Doepel Restoration team we say THANK YOU!

Best wishes
Tim Horton

Lets go back to the beginning of the restoration in 2010, and have a look at the engines being removed. How different was Alma back then. Those two engines are now located in the Shed, and with a some restoration, can be returned to working order. The restored Alma will have new engines that are lighter, smaller, more economical and rich with modern technology.
If anyone is interested in these two vintage Gardner engines - come and talk to us.
Lets go back to 2013 and have another look at how Alma was floated on to her barge. Once again we see our hard working volunteers in action. The facility and the skilled workers were provided by BAE systems in Williamstown.

Donate Today
There are a number of ways
you can help raise money for Alma
1. The end of financial year is looming, and with that you may be thinking about tax deductible donations!
Please think of the Alma Doeple Restoration Project.

2. Why not get a group together and come on a "Behind the Scenes Tour" of the Alma Doepel. If each member makes a small donation - say $10 - we will provide a tour with morning tea. You will see up close the work that is going on and learn about the 115 years of history including service to:
  • Eastern seaboard of Australia,
  • Hobart and Melbourne,
  • the Army in WW2 in the Pacific Islands
  • and her new role providing Youth Sail Training for young people equipping them for success in their lives
3. If you are considering a mortgage in the near future - you might want to have a look at the AWA Alliance Bank who have an arrangement with the Alma Doepel to assist in the Restoration.
As an example if you took out a $250,000 mortgage at 3.99% it will deliver Alma Doepel approximately $1,300 a year. Something for you to think about.

A Strategic Partnership between Alma Doepel and AWA Alliance Bank has been established.
Through this partnership you can support Alma Doepel’s restoration by considering AWA Alliance Bank for your banking needs..

Make a donation today of any amount, and remember a donation of $500 or more buys a plank and immortalises you or your group on our Plank Honour Board.
