SUPPORT UKRAINE:
AFA connects fashion scenes
Promoting and supporting the networking between designers, business, culture and creative people is one of the main focuses of the Austrian Fashion Association.
In this spirit, we now hope to offer space to Ukrainian fashion designers and other creatives working in the field of fashion, to make their stories heard and connect with the Austrian fashion industry via our channels.
The Austrian Fashion Association also acts as a matchmaker between Austrian and Ukrainian creative people in the fashion sector and would like to bring together Ukrainians who are looking for a job or freelance work in Austria with people/companies here that offer jobs in the respective areas.

Ukrainian label GRMN specializes in comfortable basics made from natural fabrics. Their second collection was launched this spring in collaboration with the YouTube show Ebout, in which three women discuss vital but taboo topics. Currently, Yaroslava Kravchenko, founder of Wild Theatre, the most popular independent theater in Ukraine, Nati Avdeeva, model and producer of online newspaper The Village Ukraine and publicist Kateryna Motrych are asking questions like: How to survive loss - homeland, loved ones or plans for the future?, How does the war affect ones private and sex life? And how to deal with fear, hatred and panic attacks?
A part of the profits from the GRMN x Ebaut collection will be donated to the Return Alive Foundation which supports the armed forces. "We created these clothes before the full-scale war began - for a peaceful life and a warm spring. But all Ukrainian citizens changed their plans because of Russia. Nevertheless, we decided to launch our joint collection. The economy has to work. Even in an emergency shelter or an evacuation train, we deserve comfortable clothing,” emphasizes GRMN.
The sweatshirts and t-shirts with the slogan What’s your superpower? I'm UKRAINIAN can be ordered online worldwide. The label is currently working on producing a drop featuring Ukrainian illustrators to donate funds from this sale to the armed forces and civilians.

Yana Yurevych is a stylist and runs the label Romantic Collections together with her best friend. She wrote us this message:
"Before that terrible day, the very early morning of February 24, when the war started, I lived and worked happily in Kyiv. I spent the first day and night with my girlfriends shivering in the air raid shelter and the next day we decided to just to go with a small bag that each of us had in the air raid shelter. First we moved to Warsaw, where very good people helped us and gave us accommodation. And then we moved to Paris because there are some friends here. So now I'm in Paris trying to live my new life outside of my country.
In Kyiv I started collaborating with Ukrainian designers in 2017. I am very proud of this and grateful for such a great experience. But then I understood that I wanted to move on and do my own stuff. Since last year I dedicate myself more to styling for brands, shops, advertising. And also our clothing brand is growing slowly but with love. And I want to continue that. Wherever I am."

Vikele Studio is a Ukrainian bag and accessories label that focuses on classic colors, expressive textures and concise design in its collections.
Vikele Studio bags are unique because they are handmade in a small factory in Kyiv.
Since the label's main production site is in Kyiv, most of the team members have fled the city for safety since the start of the war. If you want to support Vikele Studio, you can do so by purchasing a deposit card. A card costs half its value and can be redeemed as soon as production can resume.
