The first meeting of the Commission was held in Boston on January 17th and 18th. There were over 100 attendees from 18 different countries across 6 different continents. In addition, 720 viewers from 24 different countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, North America and South America joined the meeting via live streaming. The first meeting presented a foundation of key topics through a series of lectures and panel discussions; initiated determination of the main directions, themes and policy foci for the Commission; and expanded collaborative engagement in the Commission process.

Call for Comments to the Lancet Commission

The Lancet Commission on Global Surgery invites you to post a comment regarding topics pertaining to global surgery that you believe should be priorities for the Commission to address. Comments should be no more than 500 words and should be written in English, French or Spanish. They can be posted here. The deadline for comment submission is April 15th, 2014.
