Frontier Academy Community,
As of September 1st, Frontier Academy Elementary school will be moving to remote learning for all students.
An individual who had contact with a separate 5th grade cohort has been identified as presumptive positive for Covid-19.
To allow time for students and staff to be away from each other and stop any further transmission of COVID-19, we have decided to temporarily move all instruction online until September 15th. It will also allow for additional sanitizing and disinfecting at the school. This only impacts the elementary school at this time.
The secondary school is still scheduled to continue with in-person instruction in our hybrid format.
All individuals identified to be at high risk of exposure have all been contacted directly by administration. If you did not receive notification from the school, your student was not identified as someone with direct contact to the individuals in question. We will continue to work with the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment on our response to this exposure.
Beginning Thursday September 3rd, please access and participate in the online learning menus that will be shared by your teachers. Look for additional communication from your teachers and the elementary school beginning Thursday. Teachers will be taking the next 2 days to prepare their online learning structure. Teachers will be setting up times to meet via zoom as soon as they are able.
Tuesday, Sept. 1st, between 8 and 10 am, a representative from Nutrition Services will be providing meals to any family that needs food assistance. Breakfast and lunch for the remainder of the week will be provided in a drive-up service model in front of the K3 building. If families have questions, please email them at email@example.com.
We are disappointed to make the switch to remote learning for the next two weeks, but firmly believe that it is in the best interest of our students and staff. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition. Please know that we are committed to providing a great education at Frontier Academy, regardless of the format.
