What is your club doing to celebrate World Polio Day on Monday, October 24th? Let us know.
Because of Rotary’s support, nearly 3 billion children have been immunized against polio and are protected for life against this crippling disease.
Rotary and partners reduced the number of wild polio cases from 350,000 in 1988 to 140 in 2020. Twenty million cases of paralysis have been averted through this global effort.

The Peace Poles are Coming! The Peace Poles are Coming!

The Rocky Point Rotary Club U.S.A. is bringing sixty one peace poles for "planting" on Long Island. You might be asking; "what is a peace pole?" Peace poles are four or eight sided poles with the message, May Peace Prevail on Earth, printed in the languages of the world. The project started in Japan in 1975 and has grown into an international peace movement. There are more than 200,000 peace poles on every continent on Earth.

The peace pole project is part of Rotary International's emphasis on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution. To find out more about the project and/or Rotary contact: May Peace Prevail on Earth website or Kevin Mann at kevinmannmail@gmail.com or call 631-470-6351.
