Westhampton Rotary
For our newest service project, I received permission from the Suffolk County Department of Public Works (SCDPW) to become part of their "Adopt-A-Highway" program.  We started collecting in September and continued until December.  The SCDPW, does not allow pick-ups during the winter months for safety reasons.  Consequently, we re-started the program in March of 2022 and we will continue until December of this year and beyond.

Our "Mile of Montauk", as I like to refer to it, is from Tanner's Neck Lane in Westhampton to Mill Rd in Speonk, one mile west on Montauk Highway.  Once a month, Rotarians get together and clean-up the highway.  The SCDPW has supplied us with all the equipment we need including, garbage bags, pickers, gloves and the ever popular - safety vests!
Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary
Farmingdale Library held a fantastic Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the StoryBook Walk, which was a joint project of the Farmingdale Public Library, the Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary Club, and the Farmingdale High School Interact Club.  The Farmingdale Breakfast Club (along with a grant from our District) provided the funds for the Library to create the StoryBook Walk and to provide refreshments and goodie bags to those children who attended the event.  The Library Staff did a great job in hosting the event and its Director, Chirsta Lucarelli, did an amazing job in walking the children through the pages of the StoryBook and reading the story to them.

Gold Coast Rotary
Gold Coast Rotary Club member Mark Krieger established and manages a clothing donation charity from the basement of his Temple in New    Hyde Park. It is 2500 sq ft and open to anyone who needs clothing including women, men, and children and he can dress anyone from head to toes.
There is even a private changing room with full length mirrors.
Need to go for a job interview? Need a prom or wedding dress? New clothes for Church or Temple?
He currently has 3000 articles of clothing and donates to 21 Countries as well as the Tri State area.
He wishes to spread the word in our Rotary Community and would be happy to meet with any Club that may wish to set up their own clothing charity in their area. Call Mark at 917 703 4694 to schedule a visit. By the way if you are not needy but want a bargain you can visit  and purchase top fashions at a major discount. Proceeds go to keeping the lights on
