The Daughters for Life Monthly E-mail
Dear Daughters for Life's family,

We would like to thank you for your support throughout 2016! You made it possible for us to go on with our mission to educate underprivileged girls from the Middle East. When you extended your support to us, you brought our female scholars one step closer towards the career of their dreams.

Let's recap some of 2016's big moments that you shared with us.

4th Daughters for Life Gala a Big Success

Our Fourth Daughters for Life Gala was a great success, helping us raise new funds and spreading the message of Daughters for Life to a wider audience. Thanks to our sponsors and supporters!

Financial Awards for Students in Palestine & Israel

Our Annual Daughters for Life Awards were held in West Bank and Israel this year, where Ontario Premier, Kathleen Wynne attended the celebration of awarding 49 young women with financial awards to help them continue their undergraduate studies.

Daughters for Life Scholarship Program 2016

Under our regular scholarship program for Middle Eastern girls, six scholars arrived for the 2016 academic year to pursue courses in Medicine, Biology, Arts and Political Science. At present, we have a total of 23 Daughters for Life scholars studying currently at our partner institutions in US, Canada, UK and Bangladesh. Two of our brilliant scholars have graduated in 2016; Loureen Sayej with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Human Rights Law, and Sarah Abu Ramadan, who completed a Culinary Arts Program from College Boreal, ON. Thanks to our scholars!

Our Family Grows! New Partners Signed

We also welcomed new academic partners into the Daughters for Life family in 2016. We are extremely motivated about our partnerships with McMaster University, Brock University, and York University.

The commitment of our continuing academic partners in taking care of our Daughters for Life Scholars is commendable. We heartily thank all of our partners for taking such good care of the scholars they host.

A Future for Syrian Girls: Special Scholarship Initiative

In 2016 we also launched our Syrian Scholarship initiative. Up to 15 girls living in Syrian refugee camps are being given the opportunity of quality education through the help of our partners ILACCulture Works and Brescia University College. There is still time to give: to welcome these 15 bright Syrian girls to Canada and give them the chance to pursue an undergraduate, we need your help! Please check out our initiative page and see how you can help.

We also feel full of pride for what our daughters have accomplished. We saw them strive for what they believed in, inspire others and support each other.

These holidays are well deserved! As a part of DFL Community, we are delighted to share with you that our scholars just completed their first semester. And almost all have scored brilliantly with straight A's.

As we close 2016, we, at Daughters for Life, are grateful for a lot. And your support is one that we are most thankful for. We are privileged to having you as one of our donors, partners, volunteers, supporters and scholars! THANK YOU!

We believe that the best is yet to come, we look forward to 2017, and all the success it will bring to all of our daughters. We wish you happiness and love for this holiday season. May the new year bring peace and prosperity in your life.

Thank you!
