NEWS FROM THE LIBRARY

March Reading Madness Has Started!
We have started our grade level reading competition. At the end of March, the classes with the highest average minutes read per student will win a class party.

  • Any type of reading counts - books, ebooks, MyOn and audiobooks

  • Read with your family, your pet or on your own...just read

  • Read 20-30 minutes or more 5 days a week

  • Track number of minutes read each week

  • On Fridays, submit total reading minutes for the week through this Weekly Reading Form.

Classroom party winners will be announced in early April.

During Free Book February we gave away 75 books to Eagle Crest Readers!  Keep on reading and logging your minutes and you might still win a book.  We are giving away books to one reader per grade level each week.  Here are this week's Free Book Winners:

CHECK OUT A BOOK FROM THE LIBRARY

You can still check out books from the library even if your class is not visiting the library this month. Go to Destiny to reserve books for classroom delivery. How To Request Books for Classroom Delivery . You can also contact Mrs. Beckett at beckett_joan@svvsd.org or you can fill out the Library Book Request Form to help Mrs. Beckett select a book for your child. Books are delivered each week to the classroom.

We are fundraising for the well at our partner school in Uganda.  Well water will give year round access to clean water for drinking, cooking, eating, washing and bathing.  Contaminated water causes many illnesses in children that keep them out of school for long periods of time.  This well will provide clean water for the whole school community.
