Academic proficiency is an important district goal for all elementary students. Research shows that extended school year learning opportunities positively affect student success.

Project Launch program includes:

  • Targeted literacy practice daily

  • Content literacy in science and social studies

  • Focused math study and exploration

  • Transportation provided

  • Breakfast, lunch and snack

  • Kindergarten – 5th Grade Students

  • Available at no cost to families

March Reading Madness Is Going Strong! 
Be sure to take some time over Spring Break to read a good book and then log your reading minutes for the week through this Weekly Reading Form.   Classroom party winners will be announced in early April.

CELEBRATING READING
Keep on reading and logging your minutes and you might still win a book.  We are giving away books to one reader per grade level each week.  Here are this week's Free Book Winners: 

  • Kindergarteners - Harper in Loos' class
  • First Graders - Cassidy in Dudley's class
  • 2nd Graders - Dominque in Doyle's class
  • 3rd Graders - Sofia in Potter's class
  • 4th Graders - Carsten in Coleman's class
  • 5th Graders - Ian P in Butterfield's class
 

CHECK OUT A BOOK FROM THE LIBRARY

You can still check out books from the library even if your class is not visiting the library this month. Go to Destiny to reserve books for classroom delivery. How To Request Books for Classroom Delivery . You can also contact Mrs. Beckett at beckett_joan@svvsd.org or you can fill out the Library Book Request Form to help Mrs. Beckett select a book for your child. Books are delivered each week to the classroom.
