Hello Eagle Crest Families!

This is such an exciting time of the school year!  Our main office officially reopened this week and we have been busily working away to get ready for teachers and then students to arrive.  This week we had a meeting with our instructional leaders (staff representing each of our gradel levels and departments) and I am again reminded about how fortunate we are to have such creative, thoughtful, and kind individuals working with our children.

There is a lot of information below that will be very helpful as we gear up for the new school year.  If you have any questions, please reach out!  I’m so excited to meet you and your children.

A Note from the Dean of Students

Hello Eagle Crest Families!

One of our most important tools for families is having access to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Within this account you will be able to update your contact information, track your students attendance, see their report cards, access the fee payment system, and give permissions or approve important documents including the NEW iPad Insurance protection plan.

To access this account on this website:

If you do not know your Parent Username, please contact the front office and we can look it up for you!

If you have forgotten your Password, you can use the Forgot My Password button or contact the front office for assistance.

You can learn more about Infinite Campus here: English / Spanish

There is also a translated walkthrough video with step-by-step instructions on how to find and accept parent permissions and where to locate fees. This step will be key this year so that your family can opt-in to iPad Insurance. See more information about that below from Mrs. Schwirtz!

Thank you,

Lindsey Cheney

Class Lists

Class Lists will be posted on Friday, August 13th at 8:30am! Each year, the Eagle Crest staff takes a lot of care and time to place each student with one of our fabulous teachers. We take into consideration the whole child, their individual needs and strengths, and account for the overall makeup of each classroom and grade level. We can't wait to welcome every student back into our classrooms!

We believe that communication with families is essential to the success of every student at Eagle Crest. First and foremost, you will receive a newsletter from the office once a week on Thursdays. Newsletters will contain important announcements, information about events, and any other important information from the office staff. We will send these via email as well as post them on our school website and social media accounts.

Other important forms of communications at Eagle Crest:

  • Email: You can expect an email from your student's classroom teacher on Friday, August 13th. They will share with you a bit about themselves, their classroom, and how to best communicate with them. All other staff emails can be found on our website in the Staff Directory.

  • Seesaw / Schoology: We encourage every family member to utilize our Learning Management Platforms, Seesaw- PK-3rd and Schoology 4th-5th, as a way to stay up-to-date with your student's schoolwork and classroom communication.

  • Thursday Folders: All paper communications will come home in your student's Thursday Folder. Please feel free to utilize this folder to send papers back and forth to your classroom teacher. We will often try to save paper and provide copies of general fliers to only one student if you have multiple children at Eagle Crest.

  • Planners: All 3rd-5th graders will receive a planner. Their teachers will use this to organize their school work, reminders, and weekly events.

  • Social Media: As the school year gets started we will share all of the great learning going on at Eagle Crest on our social media accounts. You can follow us on Twitter at: . We will soon also have a Facebook account and will share that link when it is live!

School Supplies

Now is the time to get a jump on school supplies for the new year. There are sales all around town, and hopefully you can get in and out before it gets too packed!  Here is the link for the SVVSD official school supply lists for all grades PK-8 across our district.

There is a section on the document that lists potential "extra items" you could purchase and donate to the school.  At Eagle Crest we would especially love and appreciate boxes of tissues, cleaning wipes, and extra sticky notes!

Meet the Teacher

This year we are thrilled to welcome all families to participate in our Meet the Teacher event to kick off the school year.  While we are still working out the details to make this both a fun and safe experience for our students, families and staff, you can plan on meeting your child’s teacher, connecting with our main office, before and after school childcare providers, our Parent Teacher Organization and more.  We are currently planning to host this event outside, and we have extended the time frame to be 3-5pm on Monday, August 16th.  Look for more details in our newsletter next week!

Arrival and Dismissal

A unique part of Eagle Crest is that we are a neighborhood community school and all families can walk, bike, or drive for arrival and dismissal.  Help us keep everyone safe (and the flow efficient) by following these guidelines.

  • Arrival- School starts at 8:35am, and outdoor supervision begins right at 8:20. When students arrive at school they are expected to line up outside by their classroom doors.

    • Walkers/Bikers - Families are welcome to walk students to their classroom doors between 8:20 and 8:35am. If you are driving to school, and want to walk your student to the classroom, please plan to park on Clover Basin Drive, and walk up.

    • Drivers - Families are also encouraged to use our “Hug and Go” drop off lane right in front of the school. This is truly a “drive through experience” in which ECES staff will open your back door, and help unload kids so that you can drive off and get on with your day.  Drivers are asked to remain in their vehicles and ECES staff will open car doors to help students unload and head to the school building. To ensure a smooth drop off please do not park in the lanes as you pull into the school driveway.

  • Dismissal- Our final bell will ring at 3:10pm and students will be dismissed through their classroom doors. Families are welcome to meet students at those classroom doors. If you are driving for pick up, please park on Clover Basin to avoid congestion in front of the building.

Student Technology Update

I am so excited to share that for the 2021-2022 school year SVVSD will continue to provide iPads for all K-5th grade students to use for learning at school and home! Preschool students will have access to classroom iPads. The iPads will all be refreshed, updated, and ready for a ton of learning! A change to this year’s policy is that K-5 students will need to purchase insurance in order to offset costs due to lost or damaged iPads. The district offers iPad insurance for $25/year for each student. We believe that every student at Eagle Crest should opt-in to having iPad insurance as a safety-net for any damage or loss. In order to opt into the district insurance and be covered, you must pay at least a portion of the $25 fee by September 10, 2021. You can find out more details about the coverage in the links below. The fees are available to pay online in your student’s REVTRAK account, or you can bring payment directly to Eagle Crest.

PTO Volunteers Needed

Eagle Crest PTO needs 4 volunteers to organize our annual Laps for Leadership fundraiser!

We want to make sure 100% of our donations goes directly back to Eagle Crest by keeping this fundraiser in-house. Without volunteers, our PTO will have to use a national fundraising company to help us run this event. Last year, we funded VEX Robotics Kits for our 5th graders to use this year in the Garage, we brought the University of Colorado Shakespeare program to 3rd-5th graders, a virtual Jeff & Paige concert to Kindergarten-2nd graders and supported staff with conference meals and classroom resources and so much more! This committee needs to be formed by September 15th. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Katie Lancaaster at to help!

Green Star Schools Program

Eagle Crest is a proud participant in Eco Cycle’s Green Star Schools Program! This will be our thirteenth year enthusiastically composting and recycling in the cafeteria and in all of our classrooms. Every year we reduce the amount of trash we produce by one-third, and regularly enjoy inspiring classes and assemblies with Eco-Cycle!

With the goal of developing leadership skills through building earth-positive habits, students participate in Zero-Waste events such as Laps for Leadership (thank you, PTO!), energy-saving and waste-reducing challenges, our Food Rescue program, and growing our schoolyard gardens. Our Eco Eagles team leads many of these projects and meets weekly.

We are grateful to be part of the Green Star Family! Our wonderful custodial and cafeteria staff, along with our entire school community, help make it possible. Thank you for your continued support!
