We are so excited to announce that Alpha will begin again this Fall, both online and in-person! What is Alpha? Through a series of videos, talks, and discussions, we discuss the big questions of life and learn about Jesus while building relationships and community with others. Beginning on Thursday, September 29th, Alpha will take place each week at SVDP church from 6:30-9pm.

Alpha doesn’t just happen – it takes the time and effort of many people in many different roles. We need you! You can read here about all the ways you can volunteer and be part of the Alpha Team.

This past Saturday, Fr. Toochukwu commissioned three new Altar Servers. We are happy to welcome Kierra D’penha, Zugo Enermadu, and Linda Gagnon to the ministry. May God bless them in their new roles!

Christ the King Parish was recently recognized by the East Dartmouth Christian Food Bank for the longstanding support provided to them by our Saint Thomas More Chapter of the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul. Congratulations to all members, and thank you for your continuing service to our community. We are blessed to have two very active chapters of the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul here, and we are grateful to all for their support and dedication to the community. May God continue to bless you all!

You are invited to Concerts at the Cathedral at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica! Come hear the magnificent Casavant Frères pipe organ on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in August, from August 3 to August 31.

Featured performers include: organists Shawn Whynot, Michael Gnemmi, and Kim Tan-MacNeill, and soprano Lindsay O’Rourke. Our very own Fr. Patrick Salah will be performing on August 17th. Admission is a freewill offering (suggested $10), and each performance will run for approximately 45 minutes. Free parking is available in the Cathedral’s parking lot.

The next African Mass will take place this Sunday at 3pm at St. Thomas More.

The Nova Scotia Police Chaplains Memorial Golf Tournament will take place on Thursday, August 25 at Penn Hills Golf Club. Tee times begin at 9am. The cost is $500 for a team, $125 per person. To register, call John Bellefontaine: 902-462-2864.

On Saturday, September 24, 2022, the Chaplain’s Supper will be held at St Agnes Church Hall after the 4pm Saturday Mass. All proceeds will be given to charity, in honour of Father Lloyd O'Neill. Tickets are $10 per person, and you will be entered for a door prize. Supper will be old fashioned baked beans, wieners, and brown bread. Call John Bellefontaine for tickets: 902-462-2864.
