A musical version of the 1984 film! Footloose combines songs from the hit 1984 soundtrack with dynamic new songs - and though it might seem like just a lot of fun, it also celebrates the wisdom of opening minds and listening to the voices of young people. Director Jerry Crouch, music director Lynda Shuler, and choreographer Tina Pisano-Foor have put together a cast of 39 students and adults from our community to prove that dancing is not a crime!

Little One-Inch

Little One-Inch
Presented by Red Herring Puppets
Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 10:00 am on the ACT Mainstage

Our Saturdays at ACT series combines terrific shows for children and their adults with tickets that are affordable (all tickets are only $7.00). And these shows are perfect for children of all ages -wiggling, whispering, pointing, and exclaiming are all 100% wonderful!

Up next, we host Lisa Sturz and Red Herring Puppets for Little One-Inch, a beautiful and magical tale. Lisa travels around the country with her shows; here's what one librarian shared about the performance.

"I have gotten lots of rave reviews about Little One-Inch from our patrons and staff. I loved watching  a fidgety group of kids sit completely still and mesmerized by your beautiful show. The sets, props, and puppets were amazing, as was the story. Thank you so much for the great experience." - Wendy B. Rancier, Youth Services, Roanoke County Public Library

So come on! (Free milk, juice, and cookies served in the lobby after the show!)

February's Listen to This

Thursday, February 28 * 7:30 pm
Performed in 35below

A storytelling format in the vein of “This American Life,” Listen to This is an evening hosted by Tom Chalmers with stories and songs from some of Asheville’s most interesting writers, performers, and citizens. February's theme is "Today Is the Last Day of the Past of Your Life” – Last Day Stories. Which gives me sweet visions of graduations or of satisfying visions of smashing a fax machine with a baseball bat.

Shows do tend to sell out, so don't wait!
