Online rehearsals, sharing community talent, connecting with each other -
As you know, live theatre and in-person education simply aren't compatible with the social distancing response to the COVID-19 crisis. But that's not stopping us from connecting with each other during this time of isolation.

We'll keep you in the loop about what's happening at ACT (virtually!) while we wait for the day that we can reopen our actual doors.

Youth Rehearsals Move Online

Weekly Spotlight: Youth Production Classes

We know the kids in our programs count on the bonds they make at ACT, so we are doing everything we can to keep these kids connected and engaged while they are feeling a bit more isolated than usual.

This week, staff members held rehearsals for Frozen Jr. and Peter Pan Jr. Students were able to sing together, dance together, and share high points and low points of their past week! For students who weren't able to join for synchronous rehearsal, sessions were filmed and emailed to parents.

What Else is Happening?

  • On Facebook:
    • Tom Chalmers' Listen to This is going online for a performance Thursday, March 26 at 7:30 pm
    • We are featuring singers (and dancers!) from the community during our #ACTHappyHour parties M-F at 5:00 pm!
  • On Instagram:
    • Costume Designer/Shop Manager Carina Lopez created a photo tutorial to sew masks for immuno-compromised people.

Your Support is Needed!

To make it through this difficult time, ACT is going to need your help. While we can and will reduce our operating costs during this closure, there are some expenditures that remain inevitable.
  • Buy a gift certificate! An ACT gift certificate can be used for any ACT Mainstage Season show. You can use the gift certificate yourself, or buy one for a friend!
  • Buy a London Raffle ticket! We know no one's jetting off to London anytime soon, so we've amended the raffle. The winner can choose either the trip (you'll have until Dec 2021 to use it) OR take the cash value of the prize!
  • Become a sustaining donor! A monthly recurring donation is so helpful!
Have you voted for us through Target Circle? If not, there’s still time! See how you can help direct Target’s giving to benefit Asheville Community Theatre and the community.
