A Premiere in 35below!

September 20-21, 2019
Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm
Performed in 35below

Just two more performances of Truth Be Told, a new play by local playwright and poet Monica McDaniel. Here's what people are saying about the show:

"I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end with both stories! What beautiful voices those young ladies had!" - Audience review

"We saw Truth Be Told- what a wonderful production in a wonderful setting! The theatre is intimate, the actors accessible, and the writer of the play sat right behind us." - Audience review

"The two one-act plays are short and focused; the entire evening, with intermission, is just an hour. But audiences may spend another hour discussing what they’ve seen — who’s to blame, what’s real and what’s fantasy, and what constitutes justice after these most soul-splitting of crimes." - Asheville Stages

Truth Be Told consists of two one act plays, twinned in theme, that display the struggles of sexual abuse, and the aftermath; which is healing. Truth Be Told is part of our Artistic Horizons program.

A renowned writer has it all, fortune, fame, women and adoration, when one excruciating miscalculation causes him to lose everything. Einstein and the Polar Bear will be performed as a concert-style reading. Directed by Ellen Pappas and starring Peter Thomasson, Terry Darakjy, Steven Samuels, Jacob Blass, Patti Smith, and Jordan Wright with Mike Vaniman as the Narrator & Stage Manager and Charlie St. Clair doing the tech & lighting.
