There are two more weekends of Avenue Q, and we're glad about that. Because people who've already seen the show are coming back to get more tickets and are bringing more friends along! But that doesn't mean we don't have room for you!

Still on the fence? Don't be! Here are two of our most recent TripAdvisor reviews:

Wonderful Production - Way above Expectations
I was not expected to be so entertained as I was with this delightful production of a VERY funny play. The theatre itself is perfect for stage entertainment. It was very obvious great care had been taken to make guests comfortable and feel welcome. The talent of the actors made the whole story come alive with animated puppetry and GREAT voices. From the cute little care bears to the cookie monster, all of the players gave the type of performances any level of theatre would be proud to show. Thanks to the backstage staff, the sound and lights, the users, the directors for making my trip to Asheville a fun day.

Avenue Q and great community theatre
As a lover of Broadway, I am always curious what I'm going to see when I visit a local community theater. This was my first show at Asheville Community Theatre and I could not have been more pleased. This was a top-notch production of a very tough musical where most of the cast have to be performers and puppeteers simultaneously. It was hilarious, edgy (DO NOT take the kids!) and one of the most entertaining shows I've seen in a while. The singing was spot-on, the acting was superior, the sets, lighting and multimedia augmented the story and the fun of this show. In addition, the cost is very reasonable for life theatre (We caught the Sunday matinee.) These theatre-lovers will be going back!

Leave the kids and the easily offended at home for this one! We know we sound like a broken record about this, but we can't stress this enough. Yes, the puppets look like they're straight from Sesame Street (and they're supposed to), but this is not a kid's show.

Teamed Up On and Offstage!

November 2-18, 2018
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm; Sundays at 2:30 pm
Performed in 35below

Michael and Brenda Lilly are a team both on and off the stage. They each have a list of credits a mile long. And in November, they're combining forces to produce The Man in the Bright Nightgown, a one man show starring Michael and directed by Brenda!

On a hot August night, an inebriated Jimmy Wharton stumbles into his backyard to converse one last time with the larger-than-life father he laid to rest earlier that day. As he works his way through their often fraught relationship, Jimmy ends up face-to-face with his own shortcomings in this colorful, comedic and poignant play written by award winning NC playwright Tom Huey.

Plan a Play Date!

November 2-4, 2018
Friday at 7:30 pm; Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 pm
Performed on the Mainstage

Bring your kids to see these kids! This super silly, super funny, super duper show is a perfect performance to attend with your kids. Or - make it a play date! - and invite a friend or two along with you!

It’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend, Lucille, doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting! Performed by students ages 8-13 in our Tanglewood Youth Theatre Production Class.
