Avenue Q Opens on Friday!

October 5-28, 2018
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm; Sundays at 2:30 pm
Additional Thursday performances 10/18 and 10/25 at 7:30 pm
Performed on the Mainstage

We're opening our 73rd season with this puppet-filled witty and raunchy musical comedy! Recent college grad Princeton moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q – a street where puppets and humans alike live together. Princeton and his new-found friends try to figure out life in this musical where Sesame Street meets South Park. Winner of the 2003 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.

Leave the kids and the easily offended at home for this one! We can't stress this enough. Yes, the puppets look like they're straight from Sesame Street (and they're supposed to), but this is not a kid's show.

Opening Weekend Events:
  • Friday, October 5: Opening Night! Join us for a glass of complementary champagne pre-show!
  • Saturday, October 6: Sweet Saturday! Pre-show chocolates in the lobby!
  • Sunday, October 7: Q&A Matinee! Post-show talk-back with the cast and crew!
Plus, Opening Weekend tickets are cheaper than the other 3 weekends! We want you to get in early to see Avenue Q!

Friday and Saturday at 2:30 pm in 35below;
Sunday at 2:30 pm at the Reuter Center on UNCA’s campus

Written by Nora and Delia Ephron, two of the funniest and most incisive writers to put pen to page. Love, Loss and What I Wore is a unique medley of stories, some bittersweet, others poignant and laugh out loud funny, that presents a psychological look at women – their often fraught relationships with their mothers, the men who did them wrong and the clothes that mattered to them in key moments of their lives. Performed as Readers Theatre as a part of The Autumn Players’ Readers Theatre Showcase Series.
