Staying connected and in community during this unprecedented time -
"We'll return after this long intermission!"
Our windows and doors are covered with the beautiful and inspirational artwork by our phenomenal Technical Director, Jill Summers.

Thank You!

This week, we want to take a moment to thank all of the parents and caregivers of students in ACT’s youth classes and productions. WOW! Despite all of the uncertainty and stress of the past few months, you have made the extra effort to help your kids prepare for online shows, rehearse for class, and give up your devices so they can connect. Our standing ovation this week is for YOU! Thank you for all you do for your kids and for ACT!
Digital kids: Students in our Youth Production Classes perform this week!

Weekly Spotlight: Youth performances online!

When we closed our doors due to COVID-19, we had already started afterschool rehearsals for Frozen, Jr. and Peter Pan Jr. We immediately shifted to online rehearsals, and then shifted again to rehearse non-musical versions of those stories.

These students have learned a new script in only a few hours! Plus, they are also each doing multiple jobs: while they are acting, they are also their own costume designer, set designer, and cameraperson. They have drawn on mustaches and tied on scarves, made props out of cardboard and tin foil, and now, they are ready to present in this new medium!

And so, next Monday and Tuesday, we will present shows from the homes of our students directly to YOUR home! These shows are perfect viewing for other young students!

Tickets are free. Once you register for the event, you will receive a unique link to view the livestream!

Your Support is Needed!

Do you remember the first time you came to ACT? Were you excited to see a show you’d never seen before? A little nervous to step on stage to audition? Curious about what backstage work might be like? At the moment you stepped through our door, you became a part of ACT. We are for the entire Asheville community - it’s even in our name!

Right now we are facing an uncertain world, but we know that, with your support, we will continue to be here for our community for another 75 years. To do that we need your help. If you can, please consider making a donation today. Help us stay strong for the next generation to step through our doors.
