However, he’s holed up in a condo with his mistress considering his unexpected freedom to start a new life. The Full Monty Opens in June!

June 1-24, 2018
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm; Sundays at 2:30 pm
+ select Thursdays at 7:30 pm
Performed on the Mainstage

When a group of unemployed Buffalo steelworkers come up with a way to make some quick cash, everyone wonders if they will really pull it off! Based on the cult hit film of the same name, The Full Monty is a ten-time Tony Award nominee filled with honest affection, engaging melodies and the most highly anticipated closing number of any show. This show is helmed by Jerry Crouch with music direction by Rob Blackwell and choreography by Jacob Walas and stars a cast of 21 community members.

And you'll just have to see the show to see how we do the ending!

So let's talk about that ending (and the rest of the show). For each of our Mainstage shows, we have a section on the website called "Audience Guidelines" where we flag possibly objectionable content so that you can make an informed decision about whether this is a show for you (or a show that you'd like your children to see). We strongly encourage anyone on the fence to read those guidelines! And if you still have questions, call us and ask!

7th Year for Costume Drama

Friday, July 6, 2018
7:30 pm

On the Mainstage

Costume Drama is back on the ACT Mainstage! Which means great lighting and runway, and also extremely limited seating (pro tip: get your tickets soon!) This eclectic evening of inventive fashion has quickly become one of the highlights of the Asheville event calendar and sells out every year! Local designers compete for cash prizes in this Project Runway-esque show, and proceeds from tickets benefit the theatre.

This year, we juried the entries and have 20 top designers competing in 4 categories: Hardware, Light, Paper, and Revisionist History. There are two levels of seating: Preferred, which gets you the best look at the garments as they're debuted onstage and as they travel through the audience, and Standard, which in our theatre is still a great seat!
