Stewardship Celebration Sundays

Join us as we celebrate the stewardship that assists Calvary United Methodist Church in being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in our community and world. Stewardship is not just about money. Generosity is a matter of action, intentions, and heart. Over the next 8 Sundays we will be celebrating our ministries and partners and how they impact stewardship at Calvary. We will also be learning about the many ways that we can give at Calvary and the resources available to you.

Calvary’s Partners
Church partnerships are essential in meeting the needs of our community. The United Methodist Church has long recognized the power of working partnerships to invest in the human and financial resources for helping our community and world. Over the eight Sundays we will be celebrating these important partnerships which enable us to do things we could never accomplish alone.

A burgeoning conductor as well as a singer, George is the chorus master and assistant conductor at Undercroft Opera, and regularly conducts the choir at St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church in Aliquippa. George is an ardent coffee drinker, and is a proud Hufflepuff. He is honored to perform in our Messiah for the second time.

Calvary Is Now Live Streaming Sunday Worship

Calvary is now live streaming our Sunday morning worship service on Facebook! If you are unable to make it to service, join us at 11:00am Sundays to worship with us remotely from your computer or mobile device at https://www.facebook.com/calvaryumcpittsburgh/.

This is something that we have been wanting to do for quite some time, but simply did not have the resources or the man-power to make it happen. A lot of work goes into this project, and happily, we now have a Media Team led by Juan Martinez, which also includes Ryan Rightmer, making this possible. In fact, you may have seen Juan over the last few weeks at the sound board in the Sanctuary. He has not only been recording the entire service and streaming it live to Facebook, but also monitors and adjusts the sound levels and utilizes multiple cameras depending on what is needed at the time during worship.

There are already almost 100 people weekly watching the service either live, as it happens, or later on in the day or week. This is such a great outreach for Calvary, and we need to realize how incredibly blessed we are. Churches will typically pay thousands of dollars on equipment and streaming services. Thanks to the talents and expertise of our Media Team, they are able to remove these costs entirely. We are thankful to have such talented members of our church family that are willing to donate their time and spiritual gifts.
