Any feast day invites us to appreciate something we might otherwise overlook. Saint Patrick's Day is an opportunity for us to consider what gifts there are in experience of Irish identity, faith and relationships. More than any other, this Patrick's Day brings into focus just how much we do take ordinary things in our stride; even as the shadow of looming coronavirus reaches afar, it brings us to realise how we have already been blessed as we to pray that we might enjoy ordinary life again.
May you find some moment on this feast day to give thanks, to express your heart's desire and to grow in trust of what you do to bring hope to others.

Go gcumhdaí Dia sinn

Time online?

Isn't the Internet great when, for example, you wonder about the word quarantine and its connection with Lent? There is so much good online that we can settle for the merely interesting. God's spirit is delightfully present when we find life and inspiration unexpectedly, when we have the time and opportunity to allow ourselves to be digitally blessed.

Among the excellent resources published by the Health Services Executive in Ireland in this trying time is Minding your mental health during the coronavirus outbreak; it offers a timely reminder about managing your news and media diet. It sometimes takes a little work to push through the news and to find Good News. Thankfully, there are many resources for prayer and reflection online:
