 Commodore's Corner

The Commodores' Dinner is fast approaching!

I have gotten several questions asking me "what is the Commodores' Dinner?  Well, this is the event where we honor all past Commodores.  We invite those Commodores that are still with us, as the guests of the Club to join in an evening of Junior Sailing Awards, Club Sailing Awards and Awards recognizing this past year's members that have made a difference in the success of our Club. Not to mention a great meal, friendly conversation and tradition.  Some of the stories that these "used" Commodores tell about what went on at the YC in the past, are not to be believed.

So, come out enjoy a drink, great food, fellow members and appreciate the award winners.  While you're at it, you may learn a little about the naughty past (well not too naughty).

See you at the Club!

Deck Repair Project
The deck and the benches, balusters, stairs and lattice have been repaired by member volunteers Buck Young, Fred Kaiser and Doug Heisler to increase safety, improve the appearance and extend the life of our outdoor living room.
We were able to save significant money by reusing as much of the existing wood as possible.  In the Spring we will be looking for volunteers for a “pressure washing and sealing party” to complete this project in time to enjoy the deck throughout 2016.
Please contact Heather Ransom at if you would like to join the list of members who are willing to help maintain the Club and be contacted for other projects when needed.

Rock Hall Food Pantry
Please Donate
In early November the Social Committee will be placing a donation box in the Club foyer, to receive nonperishable items for the Rock Hall Food Pantry. All nonperishable items, including pet food, will be welcome.
We normally just collect these donations on one evening but thought this would give more members an opportunity to donate to those in need. Donations will be accepted until Friday, December 18.
Forty-eight members enjoyed a fine evening dining on German food at the Club on Saturday, October 3.
Bonfire Night
Over fifty members enjoyed a beautiful Fall evening around the bonfire on Friday, October 16.
Spooky Saturday
Creativity inspired everything from Club decorations to costumes and cuisine as members gathered for the Halloween Party on Saturday, October 24.
