CYO Travel Program:
The Travel program is a much more competitive program than the intramural (in-house) program. Normally the players have a better individual skill and a greater understanding of the game.
Tryouts will be held in September, so as to determine the overall skill level of each player and the team.  Although we make an effort to accommodate all kids, not all of the kids will make the team.

The travel season is expected to begin in September.  At that time coaches will contact their players and begin practicing once a week.  The dates and times of the practices will depend on the availability of the coach.

Grades 4 through 8 will play a 12 game schedule with games beginning in October and the season will end in either late February or early March.  Since it is a travel program, half of the games will be played at other local parishes, usually within 20-30 minute drive.  St.Cyrils does not provide transportation to and from the games.

Road games can be scheduled during the weekday or weekends and at any time, except for school hours.  Home games are normally scheduled for Friday evenings and Saturday mornings or afternoons.

FYI, if anyone is interested on coaching a travel team please contact Mike Gonzalez at 917-705-5355. All coaches must submit to a background check, obtain Virtus certification and attend a couple of coaching clinics offered by CYO of Nassau & Suffolk.

(If we do not have a volunteer coach for your child's age group, we will not create a team in that age group)
