Coventry Winter Night Shelter needs you!
Coventry Winter Night Shelter opens again on 1st December - but they can't do it with without you! They are holding three training sessions for volunteers: the 9th and 18th October are aimed mostly at new people interested in volunteering and those who would like to learn more before committing; the training on the 29th October is for those who have volunteered in the past for CWNS, and for those new volunteers who attended either of the first two training sessions. 

Training will involve how to recognise when someone has taken drugs, to how to deal with stressful situations, de-escalating conflicts, listening skills, and much more. For more details, see the Facebook event or email

Good Neighbours Coventry is finalising booklets of activities going on in Coventry churches and communities which can be handed out to local older people. If you know of a social group (coffee morning, knitting club, games group etc.), send the details to
Bereavement training & tea party
Good Neighbours Coventry is holding an advanced training event for volunteers on bereavement (how to help others and yourself through it), water aid for vulnerable customers, and local activities for older people. This will be held on 1st October from 6pm-8pm at West Orchard URC. For more details and to RSVP, see the invite. Kidz Klub Coventry

Kidz Klub Coventry is part of an imaginative, international initiative which aims to share the Gospel and God's love to un-churched primary school aged children in a fun, interactive and relevant way. They are currently looking for new volunteers to come and join teams across the city. Eat good food and support refugees!

Do you like well-priced, luxury vegan food in a restaurant? How about slow-baked sourdough bread? Two new projects are flourishing in Coventry, each run by refugees to improve their language skills and job prospects. The Arabian Bites restaurant has recently moved into a permanent home, where they serve up delicacies like stuffed vine leaves and vegan cakes. Coventry City Mission – Crossline Introductory Morning

Spirit Cafe - how to run an event for mediums and psychics

Prayer for Christian Service - The Light House

Details: The next Prayer for Christian Service features the Light House counselling service. The Lighthouse offers a confidential and sensitive counselling help for a wide range of difficulties which people experience. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Christian Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament Conference

In the Arena – Equipping men for the challenges of life

Coventry Prayer House - a place of retreat to pray for you

Coventry Prayer House's vision is to 'Be a powerhouse of prayer behind, and a resource centre for, the church’s mission locally.' Please send in your prayer requests and any information that will help them and their visitors to support your ministry effectively in prayer. If you have leaflets, send some in, or come and make up a small display in one of the rooms dedicated to city ministries, or send in regular updates to that can be printed out for people to use in prayer. The Prayer House's purpose is to bless, and be a blessing in Coventry.

If you or your small group need time away in contemplation, the Prayer House also offers daily retreats at very low cost, with comfortable surroundings and interesting resources provided. Visit the website for more and to get in touch.
New community gospel choir

Get fit - get walking!

Everyone is welcome to the seventh Coventry Pilgrimage Walk on Saturday 22nd September. There will be two starting points in Bedworth, offering a longer and a shorter walk to Fillongley. Walkers will meet at All Saints, Church Way, Bedworth, CV12 8NH at 10am and walk 6.2 miles to St Mary and All Saints, Tamworth Road OR meet at St Andrew’s, Smorrall Lane, Bedworth, CV12 2DQ at 10.30am and will walk 4.6 miles. 100 Days of Remembrance

Remembrance 100 helps churches mark the centenary of WWI. On 4th August 1918 King George V called a National Day of Prayer and 100 days later, the war ended. Remembrance 100 launched on 4th August 2018 with 100 Days of Peace and Hope – prayers, Bible readings, reflections and peace-making activities – which are available to download as a booklet, or as a daily email
WEC International Open Day

Carriers of Hope, a local charity which supports migrants, has been awarded £320,000 of National Lottery funding for new staff to manage the charity’s warehouse and transport operation. For more, see the press release.
