Winter Night Shelter gains 90 new volunteers!
Coventry Winter Night Shelter is grateful for the 90 attendees at its first two volunteer training sessions of the year, with people eager to learn about how to help the homeless guests at the shelter from 1st December this year. The final training session on Monday 29th October is for both new and veteran volunteers. To find out more, see the website, or to apply to volunteer, simply fill in the online form.

Are you a night owl, a student, or perhaps a shift worker? CWNS is particularly looking for volunteers to cover the night shifts this year, staying awake for part of the time between 9.30pm-7am in case of any issues while the guests are sleeping. Almost all guests will be asleep, so you would be able to work on essays or read a book during that time. For more details, see the Facebook event or email cwnshelen@hopecoventry.org.uk.

St Clare's at the Cathedral book shop

Tucked between the old and new Cathedrals on St Michael’s Avenue, St Clare’s Shop is a Christian resource centre in the heart of our city. They sell a wide range of beautiful gifts, many of which are fair trade, and church supplies such as baptism certificates, cards and candles. They stock a huge range of theological books, mostly second hand and all just £3, as well as some new books and resources for ministry. All proceeds go to the work of St Clare’s church community, part of the Cathedral family. To be sustainable in the long term, St Clare’s needs the support of local people and Christians, so if you value having a Christian and Fairtrade shop in Coventry, please pop in, see what they do, and chat to Rev Charlotte Gale, Minister and Shopkeeper at St Clare’s.
