We express our heartfelt concern and prayers for all those caught up in the war in Ukraine. From the candlelit vigil in Coventry Cathedral on Ash Wednesday, to churches online globally and in person locally, we join with the rest of the Church in prayer for people in Ukraine and Russia.

Many local churches and organisations are already responding practically to the humanitarian needs of refugees from Ukraine. One such response from Feed The Hungry in Coventry is below.

We will continue keeping you informed of the situation through this newsletter and social media.

Ukraine donations

Coventry-based charity Feed the Hungry is collecting goods to help refugees from Ukraine. Donate:

•    Sleeping bags and blankets
•    Hygiene/toiletries and nappies
•    Dry food - rice, noodles, pasta
•    Snacks, biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, dry milk
•    Travel mugs, water bottles

Bring items to the Halo Centre, Progress Way, Binley, Coventry, CV3 2NT, 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

Larger donation of pallets of goods can be delivered by prior arrangement. Contact or 0774 775 6252 to arrange.

The charity has sent over 40 tons of food to two warehouses, one in Poland and one in Romania, for community groups helping refugees. It is also funding groups and churches to provide shelter and hot food in Izmail in Southern Ukraine. More information here.

City Praise & Prayer - In the Ruins
Save the date! Sunday 15th May, 6:30pm
The City Praise & Prayer Team, with Nexus ICA and Coventry Cathedral, is holding a very special City Praise & Prayer in the Cathedral Ruins on Sunday 15th May.

This will be an amazing experience, to gather with many hundreds of believers from across Coventry and the surrounding area to raise a significant sound of praise and worship and to pray together, for Coventry, the UK and the wider world at this time. The evening will be free, but ticketed.  More information soon. For now, simply spread the word, invite your friends, and ‘save the date’!
Join our lunch
The HOPE Coventry Leaders' Lunch is on Wednesday 30th March 12pm-2pm in the city centre. Have you (or someone from your church) booked in yet?

We'll be looking at a Coventry response to the crisis in Ukraine, plus how we do and can support refugees. There will also be feedback from our Coventry church audit. The lunch is free - book here.

St Christopher's Church, Allesley Park invite you to relaxed Open Mic NightWednesday 16th March, 7:45pm. Do you sing, write, slam, rap, improvise, whistle or have other hidden talents? Join to participate or to watch. Free entrance, soft refreshments available.

Cathedral events
This Crime & Punishment audio-visual exhibit links women’s experiences of imprisonment, past and present. Visit on Tuesday 15th March, 10am-4pm, at Coventry Cathedral.

Or join Aled Jones for a 7pm concert that evening.

From 19th March to 31st May, visit an exhibition celebrating sculptor Jacob Epstein (the creator of St. Michael’s Victory Over the Devil) through themes of reconciliation.

Also on Saturday 19th March, a new Sophie Scholl Passion play & concert launches. Details of the 6.30pm event here.
New cafe
Finham has a new cafe, run by St Martin's church. It's open 9am-2pm Tuesday to Friday, 9.30am-12.30pm on Saturdays. Try their tasty breakfasts!
Music-loving friend?
