Since 2009, Arion Farms has been offering people with special needs the opportunity to ride and bond with horses. They offer a variety of programs throughout the year, including therapeutic riding, after-school programs, horsemanship courses, and programs for seniors. Riders at Arion range from beginners to show competitors.

This summer, Arion Farms is offering Farm Discovery Day camps every week from now until the end of August. They run during the week from Monday to Friday from 9AM to 3PM. Please call the farm if you are interested in participating.

Community Recreation Initiative Society (CRIS) was founded in 2001 by Troy Becker, who wanted to offer people with special needs the opportunity to go out into nature and have an adventure. Since then, Troy’s small idea has blossomed into a fully-funded program that offers day trips as well as longer, overnight trips to various locations around British Columbia. These trips offer people the chance to go cycling, hiking, kayaking, snow-shoeing, and cross-country skiing in some of BC’s most beautiful locations.

Please check out the CRIS website if you are interested in participating or volunteering with this outstanding society.
