Powerchair Football is a Canadian game invented in 1982 that melds soccer and power wheelchairs together. Played on a basketball-sized court, players propel an over-sized soccer ball around the court with steel or plastic foot-guards fitted onto the front of their wheelchairs. In Kelowna, the Okanagan Thunderchairs (OTC) are a local PCF team that accepts members anywhere in the BC Interior between Osoyoos and Prince George. The team has been successful not only on the court, but off the court as well; joining OTC has given players the chance to socialize, travel, and participate in team sports. If you are interested in joining the team, please call the People in Motion office for more information.
