Hello Partners!

As you may know, one of the services we provide at PastorServe is mediation. Recently, a few of us facilitated mediation between two church leaders who had been at odds with one another for many years while serving on the same church staff. After 10 hours of meeting with these two individuals, one of the leaders sent me the following letter via email. Most often, we're not able to share the stories of impact in an effort to protect confidentiality. In this situation, however, this leader happily gave permission. The following are portions of her letter. I thought you'd enjoy "hearing" her heart as she reflected on the tough but necessary work of reconciling with another individual.

Wade,

I want to thank you for the time you and your team have spent with me during this painful but necessary process called "Reconciliation."

Praise the Lord that He has provided the way for me to be able to go through this, not alone, not isolated, not unwanted, not defeated, but held by Him one step at a time.

Gigantic walls have tumbled down! I was so blind when I agreed to this process. When I put myself as the victim and the innocent, God immediately started to open my eyes and show me how much I need His grace and love over me every single moment of my day. Sometimes we operate with our own devices.

For weeks, I wrestled with God about being obedient and following what I was asked to do. How stiff neck and hard head I was! For His mercy, something I do not deserve, the Spirit did what He always does; He changed a heart hard as a stone and as a rock and turned into a heart of flesh. Not there yet, but I am a work in process...

You, Jeannie, and David have been designed and crafted by God to do what you do. Do never doubt the calling He has placed on you where you are to deal with messed-up people like me.

Jesus did not die on the cross just to take us one day to heaven, He died for us so that we may reflect His image to others. I want to do it so well for His glory, here at my church or at the place that He may take me.

I will forever remember each of you and this experience. I will continue to pray for PastorServe's Ministry that through you, many more people in the body of Christ/churches will be united, sanctified, and living in peace until Jesus calls us home!

Sincerely,

Rebeca

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers (and sisters) dwell in unity! (Psalm 133:1)

Grace & Peace, Friends!
