Project One Small Step: Online Sessions to Engage Children
CareNights has started "Project One Small Step (POSS)", a new initiative to engage children online. The sessions run for two hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays via Zoom, with virtues or knowledge-based activities, and mentoring followed by activities co-planned by volunteers. Parents have shared that they enjoy the extended time they get to spend with their children through these sessions.
Weekly Call-in with Parents
CareNights also conducts a weekly call-in with parents to check on how they are coping during this circuit breaker and to offer support. Some parents have shared that they have been facing financial difficulties, while others have challenges helping their children with their home-based learning (HBL). We have started online tutoring and continue to refer families to the relevant support services and raise funds to support our services for these families.
Fruitful Fridays for Staff
CareNights staff participate in a weekly sharing session called 'Fruitful Fridays' to encourage meaningful discussion. Recent sessions have covered topics like Dyslexia, Global Development Delay (GDD), Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as stress and anxiety, to help facilitators better understand and engage children who may have these conditions.

Covid-19 Fund for Families in Need
The current coronavirus situation has taken a toll on Mr. M, one of our CareNights parents who is a rideshare driver. The drop in business has affected his family's income. And he's not the only one.

If you have additional resources or feel that you don't need the Solidarity Payout given by the government, you can help us to help them by donating part of the handout. What's more, your donation will be matched by the Bicentennial Community Fund which means we will be getting twice your support, enabling us to continue our programmes and services for our beneficiaries.

No amount is too small, and every donation goes a long way. Please help us continue being the safety net to ensure that no one in our community is left behind.
