Annual TownHall & Luncheon

31 December
Last New Year's Eve marked Morning Star's inaugural TownHall and Luncheon for all staff and volunteers and associates. The corporate family kicked off the new year in high spirits, with laughter, music, a fantastic riverside view, and the airing of Morning Star's new Corporate Video done in-house. The Long Service Award was also presented to staff who have reached the five-year milestone in their journeys with Morning Star.

Theraplay Training Workshop Fully Subscribed

Morning Star is proud to be bringing the  Level One Theraplay Child and Family Therapy & Marschak Interaction Method Workshop to Singapore in April. Due to an overwhelming response since it was opened for booking, a 2nd run was added which also saw it fully subscribed within days. Professionals and practitioners recognise that Theraplay is an effective psychotherapy in helping to build strong families and emotionally healthy children and adults.

Small Group Dinosaur Group Leaders Training
There are limited places left in this 3-day workshop which will equip participants with the right skills to conduct “Small Group Dinosaur Treatment" for children, a programme designed to promote problem-solving skills, appropriate classroom behaviours and positive social skills.

Orientation & Birthday Celebration @ HQ

24 January
New staff got to visit the new Headquarters at 25 Lorong 33 Geylang— some for the first time— for orientation last month. New and old staff alike congregated to celebrate fellow colleagues' birthdays which fall from January to March.
On the Ground
CareNights Reaches out to Families in Hougang

26 January
CareNights staff and volunteers went from door to door to visit residents of some 900 rental flats in the Hougang estate. They brought news of a new CareNights centre to be opened in the area to provide free evening care service for children of families in need.
