Dear Fam & Friends: Happy November!

I've got so much exciting news to share with you. This Friday, November 22 at 11:30 a.m., I will be performing at the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA. The performance is part of The Object of Performance colloquium organized by art historians Cheryl Finley (Spelman College) and Dorothy Moss (National Portrait Gallery). A roundtable at 6 p.m. also includes artists Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons, Genevieve Gaignard, and Jeffrey Gibson - for more info about the roundtable:

If you are heading to Art Basel Miami, on Friday, December 6, I will be on a panel entitled Pratt Institute Presents: In the Margins with alum & artist Derrick Adams, curator Ashley James (Guggenheim Museum), and Patton Hindle ( The event takes place at 11 a.m. at the New World Center's Suntrust Pavilion, more info:

Coming up in 2020, I've been invited by curator Jessica S. Hong to perform on Thursday, February 27 at 6 p.m. at Dartmouth's Hood Museum of Art. This performance is part of the overall programming for Jessica's new exhibition Reconstitution (January 6-May 24). At the invitation of Danielle Krcmar (Babson College), I will also be showing new works on paper in the Hollister Gallery from March 5-May 18.

And finally, a review of my first solo show, written by artist Silvi Naçi, appears in this issue of NKA Journal of Contemporary African Art (November 2019, #45). A visual essay about my performance Blues\Blank\Black, and co-authored with scholar Liliana Gómez-Popescu (Universität Zürich), is also featured in this issue of Ibéroamericana America Latina - España - Portugal (Vol 19, #72).

Coming off the heels of performing in the Havana Biennial and the success of curating Nine Moments for Now - this has turned out to be a banner year, and I am so grateful for your support!

With all best wishes,
