If you have any box in your garden, we recommend you act as soon as possible!
Unfortunately this is what box hedes look like after the devastation of the box moth
The Cydalima perspectalis, is a recent alien import, whose natural home is East Asia. It has spread across Europe in the past 10 years and has been in the UK for a few years now.
The season for Cydalima perspectalis is from late March to the end October.
In the UK 3-4 life cycles each per year depending on temperature, these last around 45 days.

TREATMENTS
There are 2 main biological treatments we use (we don't use chemicals, would rather get nature to work for us...). We recommend using both.
1.) Bacillus thuringiensi :
Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a natural occurring, soil-borne bacteria for natural insect control. It consists of a spore, which gives it persistence, and a protein crystal within the spore, which is toxic to the moth.
2.) Pheromone trap
Pheromone traps are a good indicator of moth activity in your garden and also as a preventative measure. Depending on which trap you buy it will last between 6 weeks & 3 months per dose of pheromone
The RHS is testing nematodes RHS Testing of Nematodes for BASF but this is still in testing phase.
