PTA PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Happy New Year Lafayette Families!

We hope you had a restful Winter break and you’re getting back into the swing of things for the new year. The PTA has some great events planned for the coming months, including a Family Dance, Dine out at Dream Dinners, Pub Crawl, and our School Auction.   If you’re interested in getting involved in volunteering for any of these activities, please let us know via email or via our volunteer page.. It is a great New Year’s resolution idea, to get more involved at your child’s school. The PTA is always working with Principal Chaput, teachers and staff on ways to improve our children’s education experience, and there are ways for all parents to be a part of that mission. The PTA welcomes any ideas, thoughts, or questions you have. On that note, if you have not heard about the art project your child is doing for the auction please ask them and encourage their passion to help raise money for their school. If your class does not have a project yet, please volunteer to help.  Before we know it, mid-winter break will be here and the art projects will be due.

Thank you,
Pamela Quadros, PTA President

LAFAYETTE RUNNING CLUB -
Did you know that the Lafayette Leopards Running Club works with three national programs to keep our students active during lunch recess? These programs, Marathon Kids, Fuel Up to Play 60 and Action for Healthy Kids provide funds, training and ideas to keep our kids active. Marathon Kids, a national program sponsored by Nike, seeks to keep kids moving with a goal of running 4 marathons in one year! Fuel Up to Play 60 is a nutrition and physical activity program, which partners with the NFL and National Dairy Council to encourage kids to create a healthy life. Action for Healthy Kids’ vision is for every student to be healthy, active and ready to learn. By partnering with these established programs, the Running Club seeks to keep our students healthy and moving! The students set goals, run/walk to achieve these goals, while laying the groundwork for a healthy and active life. Running Club is held every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch recess on the playground. Come join us!
