Workplace Violence Prevention Training for Healthcare Staff

This one-day training provides healthcare workers with a foundation of knowledge as well as hands-on practice with self-defense techniques. Participants will learn how to effectively create, develop, and enhance their personal safety with skills, habits and actions, and will walk away with strategies and techniques to avoid and prevent violence in the workplace.

How to Perform Respitatory Fit Testing

This 4-hour course reviews qualitative fit testing procedures and will prepare students to perform respiratory fit testing according to OSHA requirements CFR 24.1910.134. Students will also learn about the administrative requirements of fit testing, types of testing equipment, set-up and calibration of equipment and how to interpret results in order to properly fit respirators.

Use of the City of Boston WebEOC for ESF #8

This one hour webinar provides an overview of the City of Boston WebEOC system. Participants will learn how to access and navigate WebEOC boards relevant to ESF #8, and also craft and post clear, concise messages that comply with standards for protected and sensitive information. In addition, updates made to WebEOC in the last year will be reviewed.

After a two-year analysis of US cities by CityHealth, the City of Boston was awarded an overall gold medal for health policies implemented in the city. Specific gold medal distinction was awarded for city policies on high-quality universal pre-Kindergarten, alcohol sales control, tobacco use, food safety & restaurant inspection, and healthy food procurement. FEMA Promising Practice: Engaging Emergency Management Leadership to be Champions of Disability Integration and Inclusive Planning

Last month, FEMA, in collaboration with the Pacific Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Center and the National Network of Information, Guidance, and Training on the ADA, delivered a webinar on the inclusion of people with disabilities in emergency planning.
