A Pair of Furry Pals Need Some Love

Wilma found herself outside and was lucky enough to be brought to Animal Advocates by a local animal lover. Despite her ordeal, Wilma is doing well! She is affectionate, enjoys gentle pets and cuddling. Wilma is currently residing in a foster home with other felines, but seems to prefer the attention of people over other cats. She would make a wonderful companion!

A foster home is needed for Samson, a friendly, active 14-month-old Pitbull. Though he has done well with another dog and children, his size and rambunctious nature might be a bit much for a small child or senior citizen. Samson's ideal foster home would be with an active, person or couple with a firm hand and the patience to provide regular exercise and to work on some basic training with Samson. Does that sound like you or someone you know?

Thank You USC Women's Studies!

As we mentioned in last month's newsletter, The Upper St. Clair High School Women's Studies group organized a charity clothing drive for the benefit of the Animal Advocates Thrift Shop.

We owe the students and families of USC a HUGE thank you as their work to #FightFastFashion and eliminate waste resulted in a MASSIVE donation of clothes that can now be resold for the benefit of the animals we support.

4th of July Tips for Pet Owners

For many people, nothing beats lounging in the backyard on the Fourth of July with good friends and family—including furry friends. While it may seem like a great idea to reward your pet with scraps from the grill and bring him along to watch fireworks, in reality some festive foods and activities can be potentially hazardous to him. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center offers the following tips.
