Strata & Strata XL
Inspired by Spanish Navaja knives, the Strata transforms this traditional style into a modern design. In 19th century Spain, Navaja knives were adapted as defensive fighting tools for working class citizens. Today, the Strata can be used for everyday tasks. It opens easily with KVT ball bearings, while the 4.5-inch D2 blade edge (5.4 inch XL) offers generous, long-lasting cutting ability. A G10 front handle scale provides extra grip during use. Despite its large size, the single-position deep-carry pocket clip keeps the Strata discreet during travel. Matching copper anodized tube spacers and a pivot cap add an extra bit of flare to this modern take on a Spanish classic.

Tactile Turn pens are known for their CNC precision machined texture. It’s where their name comes from. The tactile feeling allows you to control the pen exactly the way you want. It won’t bite into your skin but provides just the right amount of grip. It’s subtle, but the textured surface disguises and protects the pens from light scratches much better than a smooth surface.
How it all started...
What's going on everyone? My name is Dan, and this is my everyday carry adventure.

My EDC journey began quite differently than others. People sometimes mention their fathers or grandfathers carrying a pocket knife, and that inspired them to give it a go. For me, it all started in the late 2000's when I was backpacking and hiking every weekend. I found the need for a pocket knife. I had always carried a fix blade in my bag, but I needed something easily accessible and ready to go at any moment. Like everyone, I had no idea where to start, so naturally I dove in head first. After asking friends and visiting local shops. I eventually settled on the Benchmade Griptillian and it was all down hill from there. I carried that Griptillian for over 15 years.
How things evolved...
Fast forward to when Covid-19 hit...we were all trapped inside with not a lot going on. That's when I got sucked into the wormhole that was Instagram and Youtube. I soaked in every bit of content that I could from the photographers, videographers and personalities in-between. I was a one knife guy for so long, but seeing the variants and options in the wild was amazing. My eyes opened up to the endless possibilities for an everyday carry. I saw minimalist carries like a knife, phone and wallet to guys carry everything but the kitchen sink. I enjoyed it all. My instagram slowly transitioned from posting random photos of life, to Everyday Carry related photos. I began using my creative side that had lain dormant for so long. I was inspired by all these amazing creators and personalities that the EDC community has in spades and my interest just grew from there. I've met so many incredible people who would give you not only the shirt off their back, but the knife in their pocket.

So now my adventure continues...the always transforming gear collection and the ever continuing search for the next grail. But most importantly, I hope to continue to meet even more fantastic people and hear their EDC adventures.

"Microtech has updated the Ultratech knife for 2015! While the dimensions and action remain the same as the previous model, this latest version features the effective, visually stimulating "tri-grip" texture. Further enhancements include beveled edges, a modified thumb slide, tri-angle hardware, and an everyday-friendly glass breaker tip. The end result is an impressive Ultratech that improves upon what has become the must-have OTF automatic.

This Ultratech has a black finished double-edge dagger blade with plain cutting edges. Its black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle has a brushed aluminum finished pocket clip, glass breaker and stainless steel hardware.

For those unfamiliar with the Ultratech, it's a fully automatic knife with a double-action out-the-front mechanism, meaning the thumb slide deploys the blade and retracts it as well. The Ultratech knife from Microtech has set the bar for all OTF knives"
The background dropout to white that some are experiencing, is linked to the "dark" phone feature. This can be either the phone's dark setting OR more likely, the specific mail app's dark settings. Gmail users have a "View in Light Mode"  setting (three dots at top) that changes temporarily for that specific email.
