SUMMARY OF COVID SUPPORT

  • Every Thursday, deliveries are made of 3 tonnes of food,  then collected by 20+ foodbanks.
  • We run a bi-weekly online Forum for Foodbanks and Soup kitchens, in collaboration with Croydon Mutual Aid Group; contact sarah.burns@cvalive.org.uk for more information
  • We recently launched a helpline for Food banks and Mutual Aid groups looking to support their clients' needs that go behind food parcels (employment, emotional well being etc). Contact james.moore@cvalive.org.uk

Google Ad Grants Seminar Available
Ben Matthews from Empower led a special hour-long Digital Candle seminar dedicated to making the most of Google Ad Grants. The free initiative gives charities and nonprofits the chance to advertise on Google Ads at no cost. National Probation Service (NPS) BAME Survey
NPS have commissioned BTEG to undertake a survey aiming to develop a productive and supportive relationship with a network of London based black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) voluntary and community sector organisations. As a part of this journey, BTEG is asking BAME-led (non-white) voluntary and charitable organisations to complete a short survey to enable them to develop an organisational map of BAME providers for NPS.  This will allow easy identification of BAME organisations in London that can potentially be commissioned in the future. The survey also seeks to identify your organisational development needs.  There is a deadline of 26 March 2021.  Read more

Improving Trust Fundraising
White Owl Consultancy, a team of undergraduate business students, are carrying out research into the development of a new trusts income research model and would like you to take part in a survey.  This model aims to help organisations find and apply for the best possible funding, at the best possible value. By answering this short survey you will help shape the development of this service and improve the way that charities can access trust prospect research across the UK.

HSE Updated Covid-19 Guidance
The Health and Safety Executive have updated and expanded its advice to help employers provide adequate ventilation in their workplace during the pandemic.

Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

£26,000    35 hours per week
 

Bromley & Croydon Women’s Aid is seeking to recruit an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to provide a high quality pro-active service to victims of domestic and sexual violence and abuse in Bromley.

The IDVA will address safety of the client and their children, assessing the client’s needs and risk level. You will discuss options with clients and deliver a range of interventions as well as develop safety plans, and support clients through civil or criminal courts. You will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic & sexual abuse.  There is no formal closing date - applications are being accepted on a rolling basis.

UK Youth Parliament
A substantial grant is available to charities who can run multiple activities across England which will support young people to participate in the democratic process, expressing their voices and being heard on issues that matter to them.
Deadline: 26 March 2021

New! Return to Football Fund
Applications are invited to a new fund that seeks to support grassroots football clubs and organisations in England with restarting or delivering new activities.
Deadline: 28 March 2021

New! Youth Centre Recovery Fund
The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust have launched the above fund to help charities running youth centres in England survive and recover from the financial losses associated from the COVID-19 pandemic Applications will be accepted from registered charities running youth centres offering youth services within a locality and operate out of a fixed space or venue. They should also be at risk of being unable to re-open and resume services, of cutting provision, or of permanent closure for financial reasons by the end September 2021.
Deadline: 31 March 2021, @4pm

Toynbee Hall – Stories Of 1971, a Story Competition
Do you have a story to tell? This competition celebrates East London's rich hertiage and cultural links to Bangladesh's 1971 Indepence Movement.  Welcoming stories in multiple languages that explore themes on: life in 1971, resistance, liberation & home. You can use local and family history to inspire your work or submit a completely fictional piece. They accept written and audio stories. Submitted stories will be judged on how original, interesting and engaging they are. The winning entry will receive £100 voucher.

New! Baring Foundation Arts Fund
The above fund has been launched together with a new report - Creatively Minded and Ethnically Diverse - which will support activities to redress the under-representation of participatory artists from ethnically diverse communities in arts and mental health.  Grants of between £10,000 and £40,000 are available.
Deadline: 21 April 2021

Fair Education Alliance Innovation Awards
The above is a year long programme of support including a £15,000 salary contribution for up to 5 individuals working on or starting new ideas to solve entrenched issues to make education fair.
Deadline: 18 May 2021 @midday

Theatres Improvement Scheme
The theme for the fund for the above scheme is 'Improving Environmental Sustainability' as this is an urgent priority for the sector. Theatre operators can apply for grants of up to £20,000 towards their building or equipment as part of the scheme.
Deadline: 6 September 2021
