It's hard to believe that 2019 is passing so quickly! With spring in full swing and summer right around the corner, your Health District will be busy with festivals, mosquito and tick prevention activities, safe swimming and cook-out food education.
Our Subdivision Partnership program is in its third year and we are so grateful for the participation in looking at the health of your community and how policy decisions can affect it. As I have shared, this program is unique, not only to Ohio but across the country. Jen Keagy, Community Health Director, and I have been asked to share the success of this partnership at the National Association of City and County Health Officials Annual Conference in July. We are excited to share how our partnership has enhanced our ability to work together for a Health in All Policies approach. We will be sharing success stories related to smoke-free parks, walking trails, Tobacco 21 and other active living/healthy eating stories that may not have been possible without our collaborative relationships! To date, we have completed over 83 partnership visits and have 100% compliance with follow-up related to the requests made. Here is a snapshot of the information that has been shared at subdivision meetings this year:
As we look forward to implementing more HiAP initiatives in 2019, please don't hesitate to reach out with any of your needs or ideas related to this initiative. As always if you have any questions or concerns regarding the Health District, you may e-mail me at email@example.com.
Dedicated to Your Health,
Shelia Hiddleson RN, MS
