Submit Comments on SVS TCAR Credentialing Document

Comments are due Feb. 4; please send to SVS Clinical Practice Guideline along with your name, title, organization and medical specialty.

The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) is seeking comments on the proposed Society for Vascular Surgery Clinical Competence Statement on Training and Credentialing for Trans-carotid Artery Revascularization.
The SVS created a task force which selected a writing group to explore the literature on training and credentialing for TCAR, to inform recommendations on the cognitive and technical skills required to obtain and maintain privileges for the safe and effective performance of a specific service, treatment or procedure pertaining to the care of vascular disease.

Where high-quality evidence was not available, expert opinion, by consensus of the writing group with structured discussion, was utilized.

Members' comments will provide the SVS, Document Oversight Committee (DOC) and the writing panel with valuable input to finalize this document. The final document will be reviewed again by the SVS DOC and the SVS Executive Board. Once the approval process is complete, the document will be submitted to the Journal of Vascular Surgery for publication consideration. Once published it will also be available on the SVS website.

Comments are due by Feb. 4.
